RIIS Introduced Amazon Alexa Skill For ETA Detroit
TROY, MI, May 10, 2017—RIIS integrates ETA Detroit, a mobile app for Detroit public transit system, with Amazon Alexa. The new Transit Detroit skill for Alexa will make it easier for transit riders in Detroit to ask when the next bus is coming to their nearest stop without lifting a finger.
Transit Detroit skill for Alexa is available for riders who have a device with Amazon Alexa such as the Amazon Echo and Echo Dot or Amazon Tap. For existing Alexa users, the skill can be added by saying “Alexa, enable Transit Detroit skill,” or go directly to the Transit Detroit skill page and click “enable skill.”
“We’re always looking for ways to make our custom app experience better and more useful,” said Godfrey Nolan, RIIS founder. “After the successful launch of ETA Detroit earlier this year, we looked at ways to maximize the mobile app and decided Alexa skill would be the perfect new feature. We’re adding convenience for the riders.”
ETA Detroit is the first all-in-one Detroit public transit system mobile app complete with bus routes and stops for DDOT, Smart and Reflex buses. RIIS is currently working on several enhancements for the app including adding the QLine route.
